Dual-SIM Functionality Modern smartphones (iPhone 11+, Samsung S20+, Pixel 3+) allow Dual-SIM Dual-Standby (DSDS). This means you can keep your home physical SIM active for receiving important SMS and calls, while using your travel eSIM for all mobile data.

Optimizing for Performance

  1. Data Roaming: For travel eSIMs to work, you must enable Data Roaming specifically for that line in your settings.

  2. Primary Data Line: Set your new eSIM as the "Primary" or "Default" line for Cellular Data, but keep your home SIM as the default for Voice/Calls.

  3. Network Selection: By default, your phone will select the best partner network (e.g., Vodafone, T-Mobile). If the signal is weak, you can go to Network Selection, turn off "Automatic," and manually select a different local carrier node.

Troubleshooting "No Service" If you have successfully installed the profile but have no data:

  • Toggle Airplane Mode: Forces a fresh "handshake" with the local tower.

  • Check APN Settings: Some carriers require a specific Access Point Name (e.g., "internet"). Check your activation email for these specific credentials.

  • Restart the Device: Clears the eUICC cache and forces a re-authentication with the SM-DP+ server.
